The Los Angeles Lakers sign DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year, $3.5M deal, and signed Rajon Rondo to a two-year deal, per Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne.

The Los Angeles Lakers were able to recover well from Kawhi Leonard‘s decision to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers were able to sign Danny Green, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, JaVale McGee, Quinn Cook, along with Troy Daniels, Jared Dudley, and now DeMarcus Cousins, and Rajon Rondo according to Adrian Wojnarowki and Ramona Shelburne. If anyone forgot, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and Rajon Rondo were teammates in New Orleans.

The Cousins-Davis duo was successful in New Orleans, and Rajon Rondo was also part of that success, orchestrating the offense. Now, they are all on the Lakers along with LeBron James. The Lakers-Clippers rivalry may be the biggest rivalry in all of sports now, with all the star-studded talent on both teams.

Cousins and Davis (combined) average in New Orleans: 53 points, on 49.2% shooting, 21.7 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 3 steals, and 3.9 blocks per game. Now, Cousins and Davis will join LeBron James, and that is not a good sign for the rest of the NBA. They will have the best front-court in the league, and they will be very tough to stop. Along with Davis-Cousins-LeBron, they have three-point shooters, such as Quinn Cook, Kyle Kuzma, Troy Daniels, Danny Green, Jared Dudley, and Kenatvious Caldwell-Pope. Something the Lakers were missing last season.

The Lakers depth chart is looking something like this, for now: Point Guards: Rajon Rondo – Quinn Cook. Shooting Guards: Danny Green – Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – Troy Daniels. Small Forwards: LeBron James – Jared Dudley. Power Forwards: Anthony Davis – Kyle Kuzma. Centers: DeMarcus Cousins – JaVale McGee.

If healthy, this roster will be a top-three seed in the Western Conference, and they will have a good chance at making to the NBA Finals as well. The Lakers key focus must be to remain healthy; after that, everything else will come in place.
