Recent Lakers rumors are that Kyle Korver will consider signing with Los Angeles now that he has been waived by the Phoenix Suns.

After a wild start to free agency, Lakers rumors are starting to finally settle down. The Lakers might have missed out on Kawhi Leonard, but they have done a really nice job filling out the roster.

Since it appeared like the Lakers had a legitimate chance to sign Leonard, they obviously waited for him to make his decision. When that decision was to go to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Lakers moved quickly on other free agents.

Coming into the offseason, getting some quality depth was a goal for the Lakers. Last season, injuries took a toll on the Lakers, and the lack of depth hurt them. This offseason, the Lakers have prioritized adding players that can shoot the three-ball effectively. So far, they have been successful with that.

Recently, one player that might consider signing with the Lakers was waived, as the Suns made the decision many were expecting by waiving Kyle Korver. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers are one of the teams that Korver will consider signing with.

"Korver — whose expiring contract could be waived for the cost of $3.4 million — will consider signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers once he clears waivers, league sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski."

At this point in Korver’s career, it is pretty clear that he wants to win. Along with the Lakers, Korver will also be considering the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. Those two teams appear to be the favorites in the Eastern Conference.

For the Lakers, they currently have 14 players on the roster. Rob Pelinka has done a very strong job improving the three-point shooting of the team and Korver would certainly help in that area.

Korver has experience playing with LeBron James, as he was teammates with LeBron for two seasons in Cleveland. During those two seasons, Korver shot 48.5 percent and 43.6 percent from beyond the arc.

While Korver likely wouldn’t have a huge role with the Lakers, he would be a valuable weapon off the bench when the team needed some shooting. With the Lakers still having a spot open, it will be interesting to see if Korver is their guy.
