After signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, Danny Green recently spoke about trying to make something special happen in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Lakers had to resort to plan B after Kawhi Leonard decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers. For the Lakers, they obviously believed that they had a good chance to sign Kawhi, and they took the chance on waiting for him.

However, despite a lot of free agents signing, the Lakers did a very nice job filling out the roster after Leonard signed with the Clippers. One of the notable pickups was Danny Green. Last season, Green was teammates with Leonard on the Toronto Raptors, and he was the starting shooting guard for the World Champs.

Green has a lot of experience as a winner in the playoffs from him time with the San Antonio Spurs and Raptors in the playoffs. Recently, Green talked about the Lakers having the potential to do big things next season. Here’s what he had to say on Inside the Green Room, with text via Sabreena Merchant of Silver Screen and Roll.

"“We got a good group of guys, we could potentially make something special happen.”"

Green is absolutely right that the Lakers can make something special happen this season. With LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the way, the Lakers have two of the best players in the NBA to anchor the team.

Compared to last season, the Lakers’ depth looks a bit better as well. The organization has clearly prioritized adding some good three-point shooters to surround James and Davis, like Green.

Green has been on teams that have won NBA Championships, and knows what it takes. The Lakers have what appears to be a roster that can make that type of run this season, barring major injuries.

As one of the big signings after missing out on Leonard, Green will be a very important piece for the Lakers on both ends of the court. With his ability to shoot the three-ball and play great defense, Green should find himself in the finishing lineup for the Lakers this season.
