Los Angeles Lakers: Signing Avery Bradley was a smart decision
The Los Angeles Lakers made a smart signing by bringing in Avery Bradley after he was released by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Avery Bradley will sign a two-year, $9.7M deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Lakers have been busy this off-season, signing DeMarcus Cousins, Danny Green, Quinn Cook, Alex Caruso, Jared Dudley, Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, JaVale McGee, and Troy Daniels.
The Lakers needed three-point shooters, and the front office delivered. Now, they sign Avery Bradley which is a smart decision for LA.
Initially, Andre Iguodala was going to be the player Lakers were going to go after, but Memphis decided to get value in a potential trade for Iguodala, instead of buying him out.
Once guard Avery Bradley clears waivers today, he plans to sign a two-year, $9.7M deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, his agent Bill Duffy of @BDA_Sports tells ESPN. Bradley will have a player option on the second season.

Last season, the front office was criticized for the way they built the team around LeBron James. Not signing enough 3-point shooters, and defenders. Now, they have made up for it by signing strong 3-point shooters in Quinn Cook, Danny Green, Troy Daniels, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Alex Caruso, and arguably Avery Bradley.

Last season, Bradley played in fourteen games with the Memphis Grizzlies, and he averaged 16.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, four assists, and one steal per game with the Memphis Grizzlies.
It is a small sample size, but Bradley is a good perimeter defender, and he has averaged 3.6 three-pointer attempts throughout his career, making 36.4% of them. That’s not a great percentage, but Bradley has never played with playmakers such as LeBron James and Rajon Rondo, so his 3-point percentage should instantly increase.
Bradley was a big signing for the Lakers because he will guard the opposing point guard, Danny Green will guard the better wing player, and LeBron will guard the other wing player. That means LeBron won’t get too worn out on the defensive end, and he can orchestrate the offense, and get the other players going on the offensive end.
