Point Guard: Avery Bradley
The Lakers have numerous options at this position going into the new NBA season. With the likes of Rajon Rondo, Alex Caruso and Quinn Cook all vying for the starting point guard role, I believe Bradley’s defensive potential and ability to knock down open shots from downtown will be the deciding factor in who gets the starting job at point guard.
While it may have been a number of years since Bradley was a member of the All-NBA Defensive Team, the potential to be a stellar defender still remains. With coaches like Frank Vogel and Lionel Hollins on the coaching staff, Bradley will not be short of coaches who will try and re-ignite Bradleys ability to be an elite defender.
If Avery Bradley can get back to this level of defense, the Lakers will have a very important player come playoff time.
With LeBron James potentially taking over as the Lakers defacto point guard, Bradley’s main job moving forward will be to guard the opposing teams point guard and hit open shots when he is called upon. I firmly believe that he can do this job effectively.
