Small Forward: LeBron James
When you have a player like LeBron James on your roster, he can choose any position he wants to play and you just accept it and let him go to work.
While Frank Vogel said no decisions have been made, James is almost always the facilitator when on the court. LeBron will be looking after point guard duties, and he will be doing so from the small forward position in a point forward capacity.
This should spell trouble for the rest of the NBA. While LeBron James is one of the greatest athletes and all-around players the NBA has ever seen, he is also one of the best passers in the NBA on any given night.
It is very easy to imagine LeBron in a Magic Johnson-esque role, running the floor at speed and making a dazzling pass to an open teammate who gets a bucket. If the LeBron playing point forward experiment goes well, the Lakers, with LeBron and Anthony Davis, could have a modern-day Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar pairing.
After a failed experiment last season of surrounding LBJ with playmakers, the Lakers have decided to finally try the tried and true method of surrounding LeBron with shooters.
Hopefully, the outcome of putting the right players around him will lead to a deep playoff run for the Los Angeles Lakers.
