Which players should start games for the Lakers, who should be in the second unit, and who ought to be relegated to spot duty?

Kawhi Leonard held the Lakers captive for the first five days of free agency, but after he made his decision to sign with the Clippers, Rob Pelinka moved fast to fill out LA’s roster.

There are currently 14 players on team:

  1. LeBron James
  2. Anthony Davis
  3. Kyle Kuzma
  4. Danny Green
  5. Jared Dudley
  6. Troy Daniels
  7. Quinn Cook
  8. Alex Caruso
  9. JaVale McGee
  10. DeMarcus Cousins
  11. Rajon Rondo
  12. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
  13. Talen Horton-Tucker
  14. Avery Bradley

Excluding a few more minor moves, we know that this is the squad that’s going to go to battle next year for the Lakers.

We also know, barring a major injury, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Danny Green are going to start for the Purple and Gold next season.

Beyond those three players nobody has any idea who Frank Vogel and Jason Kidd are going to have start games and who will come off the bench.

Adding more mystery to the Lakers rotation is the fact that Vogel just said there’s no guarantee LeBron will open games as LA’s point guard.

Furthermore, the most recent pictures of DeMarcus Cousins show that he’s extremely fit and that he might be able to regain much of his pre-injury mojo.

Let’s delve into which players should start for the Lakers, which players should make up the bench crew, and finally which guys should only see spot duty.
