The Los Angeles Lakers have almost filled out their entire roster. These are three players that could fill the final open spot on the roster.
With Talen Horton-Tucker officially being signed to his rookie scale deal, the Los Angeles Lakers roster now stands at 14 players. With one final roster spot available, it is going to be interesting to see who the Purple and Gold bring in with their final roster spot.
While the Lakers missed out on their Plan A in Kawhi Leonard and Plan B in D’Angelo Russell, they were able to bounce back very well from these setbacks and build a roster around superstar forwards LeBron James and Anthony Davis. With those two, they are capable of competing for an NBA Championship.
The Lakers have now reverted back to a tried and trusted method of surrounding LeBron with shooters. That strategy proved to be very successful in the 2016 NBA Finals as the LeBron led Cavaliers were able to get the best of the Golden State Warriors, a historically amazing team who went 73-9 in the 2016 regular season.
With the additions of players such as Danny Green, DeMarcus Cousins, Avery Bradley, Quinn Cook, Jared Dudley and Troy Daniels, the Lakers have been able to add the perfect complement of defense and shooting to a roster that sorely needed both.
Which position should the Lakers focus on with their final roster spot? Conventional wisdom would dictate that they go after a small forward as the depth chart at this position outside of LeBron James doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
With all that said, here are three options the Los Angeles Lakers could target to fill the final remaining roster spot this offseason.
