The future Hall of Famer, known for his amazing dunking ability will play one more season before hanging up his jersey. Should the Los Angeles Lakers bring in Vince Carter for his final season?
Just a couple of weeks ago, fans were panicking that the Los Angeles Lakers roster consisted of just Lebron James, Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Davis, and Talen Horton-Tucker after the NBA draft.
There were many jokes and concerns that the Lakers would not be able to fill out their roster. Shortly into free agency and a few 1-year deals later, the Lakers roster is now almost full with only one final roster spot remaining.
There have been many players linked to potentially signing with the Lakers. Kyle Korver was named as somebody who could sign with the Lakers after he was bought out by the Phoenix Suns but he agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Andre Iguodala was another as well. Recently J.R. Smith was linked to the Lakers but that is not likely to happen.
One free agent who is still available is Vince Carter.

Vince Carter is the only player from the 1998 draft that is still active following Dirk Nowitzki retirement this past season.
Carter played with Atlanta Hawks last season averaging 7.4 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game in 17 minutes at 42 years old. Although he mainly came off the bench, Carter helped bring veteran leadership to a young Hawks team.
On June 5th, Carter announced on ESPN’s “The Jump” that he would be playing “one more year and that’s it.” This will make Carter the only player in NBA history to play 22 seasons.
The Lakers are a championship-contending team this season and Carter has yet to win a ring in his career. If Vince Carter joins the Lakers and wins a championship, it would be the ultimate way to go out on top. Watching Vince Carter and LeBron James both in their primes on the same team would have been unreal.
Although Carter is no longer in his prime, it would be an honor to have him play his final season in the league for the purple and gold.
