Here are five reasons why LeBron James will win the MVP award next season for the Los Angeles Lakers

A year ago, LeBron James took his talents to Venice Beach to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. We knew that, in all likelihood, they wouldn’t win the world championship right away, but many of us did expect them to at least make the playoffs, if not make some noise there.

Of course, they didn’t. Between injuries to LeBron, Rondo, Lonzo Ball and others, as well as bad leadership that was shown by the self-proclaimed king himself, the purple and gold only won 37 games and missed the playoffs for a ridiculous sixth straight year.

Even worse, the front office seemed to be in disarray, especially once Magic Johnson shockingly resigned as President of Basketball Operations just prior to the end of the regular season. At that point, the Lakers resembled the New York Knicks more than they resembled the Lakers that Magic and Kobe each won five rings with.

But now the team possesses a strong, well-balanced roster that is being picked by some to be the favorites to win the 2020 NBA title, or least one of the favorites to do so. Even better, LeBron is in the midst of a six-month offseason, as opposed to the 2.5-month offseason he had the previous eight years after playing in the NBA Finals each of those seasons.

LeBron could be set up to not only have a monster season in terms of impact and optics, but to also add another notch to his legacy. One that took a bit of a hit once the Lakers fell out of the playoff race.
