Kyle Kuzma recently talked about the No.1 goal for the Los Angeles Lakers this coming season.

With free agency and a wild summer coming to an end for the Los Angeles Lakers, the team will be on the court before we know it.

After one of the best offseasons that the franchise has had in a while on paper, the Lakers are predicted by many to be one of the best teams in the NBA. However, it is hard to forget about the struggles of the franchise recently.

The end of the Kobe Bryant era in Los Angeles was a tough one, and the rebuild was a slow process after that. For the past six seasons, the Lakers have missed the playoffs. This certainly feels like an extremely long drought for one of the best franchises in the history of the NBA.

Recently, Kyle Kuzma spoke about what the No.1 goal for the Lakers coming into the season. Here’s what he said to MLive with text via Christian Rivas of Silver Screen and Roll.

"“Well, we’ve got to make the playoffs. That’s the most important thing. We haven’t made the playoffs in a couple years, so I think that’s the No. 1 goal right now.”"

Due to the long playoff drought and the team missing the playoffs last season, Kuzma is absolutely right. The Lakers need to make the playoffs next season.

While the roster might not have been put together as well as it could have been last season and there were a ton of injuries, the Lakers missing the playoffs was a disappointment.

After acquiring Anthony Davis this offseason, expectations have gone through the roof for the Lakers. However, it was how the Lakers filled out the rest of the roster that really made this offseason exciting.

The Lakers really struggled at shooting three-pointers and playing defense last season, which wasn’t a winning combination. This summer, the Lakers have addressed both of those issues, and this roster looks strong on paper.

While the roster looks good on paper, the Lakers will still have to produce and work hard on the court. The Western Conference is once again going to be very challenging and the Lakers must bring it nightly, in order to accomplish their goal.
