Yes Lakers fans, just when you thought LaVar Ball’s name had left the building.

Look, there is nobody that respects LaVar Ball’s hustle more than I do. For a span of a few years, he had the strongest hype act in sports. Like it or not, he was the Lakers fan-base’s guide into everything that was wrong with the Los Angeles Lakers last year.

But to compare LeBron James to what LaVar Ball was doing with Lonzo in a Lakers uniform or LaMelo playing for the Drew League is dead wrong on so many levels.

LaVar Ball was trying to start-up a business based on what Lonzo did on the basketball court. He used his son’s celebrity to obtain some of his own. LeBron James is the exact opposite.

LeBron James already has his empire. By the time he retires, his portfolio will probably be over $1 billion. LeBron James is doing what any father (Walter Agers at the top of the list!) would do to help his son succeed. Anyone that thinks that LeBron James is using his son to get unnecessary shine is way off base.

The NBA starts in a matter of months. LeBron James likes his attention but to be as narcissistic enough to exploit his own child? Come on now.
