Recent Lakers rumors are that they will be facing the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas Day.

With the NBA Schedule set to be released soon, recent Lakers rumors are that the Los Angeles Lakers will be facing the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas Day, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Christmas Day is usually is highlighted by some of the best matchups of the season, and this year is shaping up to be no different. Hopefully for the Lakers, this Christmas Day will be a bit better than last season.

On Christmas Day last season, the Lakers might have ran the Golden State Warriors, but that was also the day that their season essentially ended. In the win, the Lakers had both LeBron James and Rajon Rondo suffer injuries.

After losing two very important players, the Lakers went from being the 4th seed in the Western conference to falling out of the playoff conversation. Without James, the Lakers didn’t have enough firepower to hand around in the West.

This season, the matchup with the Clippers will be must-see television. Both of these franchises have aspirations of making the NBA Finals, and the stars will be out in Los Angeles. Depending on how the schedule shakes out, this could be the first time that we see LeBron and Anthony Davis face off against Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

While there has always been a rivalry between the two franchises, it certainly will be elevated this season after Leonard chose the Clippers over the Lakers. As both franchises fight to prove that they are the top team in the West, we will surely have a playoff atmosphere in the Staples Center on Christmas.
