The Los Angeles Lakers will have a drastically different roster for the 2019-20 season than what they had in 2018-19. One of their key additions is Quinn Cook

The excitement and anticipation is just starting to build in Lakers Nation! After several years of being stuck with bad rosters, it looks like the purple and gold will have a championship-caliber squad this upcoming season.

After apparently getting played by reigning NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard during the first week of free agency, Rob Pelinka immediately pivoted and signed several strong complementary players that have caused the team to be installed as at least one of the favorites in Vegas to win the world championship.

There was plenty of tension following the end of the 2018-19 regular season about whether the Lakers would not only acquire a second superstar to go along with LeBron James, but whether they would still have enough cap space to field a team that featured enough high quality role players to make them a title contender.

This tension persisted even after the Anthony Davis trade was agreed to, but Pelinka amended the trade to include Isaac Bonga, Mo Wagner and Jemerrio Jones so that the Lakers would have a max salary cap slot once free agency began. Then, once they were spurned by Leonard, they instantly signed a handful of role players that can contribute in a positive manner to the team in at least one facet of the game.

One of those players may not have caused tons of fanfare, but should play a key role for several reasons: Quinn Cook. Here is why he will be an important role player.
