With the NBA schedule release occurring, we now know when Anthony Davis will be making his return to New Orleans with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be a hot ticket this season. With LeBron James and Anthony Daivs on the roster, their visits to opposing arenas will be full of energy as those fans will only be able to see them once or twice a season. Now, thanks to the NBA schedule release this week, we know when the Lakers will be visiting those teams.
There are a few visits the Lakers will be making this season that will be highly anticipated games. Single visits against teams such as the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks are always big draws. However, the biggest draw this season could be when Anthony Davis returns to face the New Orleans Pelicans.
Davis was acquired by the Lakers via trade from the Pelicans prior to the 2019 NBA Draft. It was a blockbuster trade that began the shifting of power in the Western Conference and the NBA in general.
Reactions will certainly be mixed, at best, when Davis returns to New Orleans. He spent the first seven seasons of his career in the Big Easy, but things didn’t end on the best note after he requested a trade.

It was only a matter of when, not if, Davis would be moved. While the Lakers didn’t land him prior to the NBA Trade Deadline, they eventually got it done, setting up one of the best return visits of the season.
Davis will be returning to New Orleans for the first time on Nov. 27. The game will be televised on ESPN and be the last game of a four-game road trip for Los Angeles. The Lakers will return to New Orleans again on March 1, again the final game of a road trip. However, the second visit will be on the second night of a back-to-back, so you never know if Davis will suit up for that game.
Los Angeles and New Orleans will be facing off four times total this season. That means Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart will return to Staples Center twice to face their old team. The first time that will occur is on Jan. 3. The second time will be Feb. 25, so the last two meetings will take place within a week of each other.
All four matchups between the Lakers and Pelicans will be televised nationally. Three of the games will be televised on ESPN, while the other one will be on TNT. It is not surprising that all four will be on national television, as the Lakers lead the NBA with 43 nationally televised games.
