Here are three players who must step up for the Los Angeles Lakers after the injury to DeMarcus Cousins.
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered some really bad news on Thursday, as it was reported by Shams Charania that DeMarcus Cousins suffered a torn ACL.
This is a sizeable blow for the Lakers, as Cousins was a player that had the potential to be the x-factor for the team this season. One has to feel bad for Cousins, as this is yet another major injury that he will have to try and come back from. As a big man, coming back from a torn ACL after a torn Achilles and torn quad, will be challenging.
For Cousins, this was supposed to be the year that he was going to be able to regain his superstar form. By all accounts, Cousins was getting into great shape and working very hard this offseason.
Unfortunately for Cousins, this will be another huge hurdle for him to try and come back from. For the Lakers, they will be losing a player that could have had a sizable role in their rotation.
With Cousins out, there are going to be a good chunk of minutes and usage up for grabs. If Cousins was coming off the bench like many thought he would, he likely would have been either the first or second scoring option off the bench.
Since Cousins has torn his ACL, him being a factor for the Lakers this season seems very unlikely if he is able to come back in the 2019-20 season at all. With Cousins going down, here are three players who must step up for the Lakers.
