The Los Angeles Lakers added veteran guard Avery Bradley to their backcourt during free agency. Here are three key things Bradley will bring to the court for the purple and gold.
The Los Angeles Lakers made some quiet moves that can go a long way. Signing players like Danny Green, DeMarcus Cousins, and Quinn Cook will pay off big time. The one signing that people seemed to bypass was Avery Bradley.
Avery Bradley was signed to a two-year, $9.7 million contract. He is a nine-year veteran who has had a successful career. He is a man of experience who has played in some big moments, particularly with the Boston Celtics from 2010-17.
The 28-year-old has posted career averages of 12 points and three rebounds in his career. He has specialized as a “3-and-D” guard who can defend multiple positions.
This past season with the Los Angeles Clippers he averaged 8.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 49 games. At the trade deadline, he was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies. With the Grizzlies, he looked comfortable and looked like the Bradley we were accustomed to seeing throughout his career.
In 14 games with the Grizzlies, he averaged 16.1 points and four assists. He had five games of at least 20 points. Bradley even had a career-high 33 points on 15-of-21 shooting against the Spurs. It appeared that Bradley was beginning to hit his stride as he looked in better shape than when he was in Los Angeles earlier in the year.
Bradley had spent most of the last two seasons battling injuries. A healthy Bradley can bring a lot of dimensions the Lakers have been missing.
In this slideshow, I will touch on what Bradley will help the Lakers with during this upcoming season. Here are three key things Bradley will provide the Lakers with.
