– Great rebounder

One of the things that Howard would bring to the Lakers on the court is an ability to rebound the basketball. The Lakers were one of the better rebounding teams in the league last season, and that is because of having some good rebounders like, McGee, Lonzo Ball, and LeBron James to name a few.

Getting rebounding production from a guy in the backcourt like Lonzo will be something that the Lakers miss, but they did add Anthony Davis. Davis is one of the best rebounders in the league, and he will likely average in double figures in that category.

In Howard’s career, he was able to average over 10 rebounds per game in every season except last year. Considering he only played in nine games, you can essentially toss that season out. However, in just 25 minutes per game, Howard did average slightly over nine rebounds a night in a very small sample size.

Even though he isn’t the supreme athlete he once was, he is still a great rebounder. If Howard played around 20 minutes a night, he could easily average around 7-8 rebounds per game off the bench. If the Lakers needed him to spot start, he could fill in with some double-double upside.
