Recent Lakers rumors are that Dwight Howard had an amazing workout and looks to be in great shape.

With the news that Dwight Howard will be coming to the Los Angeles Lakers, recent Lakers rumors have been about how it all came to be.

Shortly after the Lakers lost DeMarcus Cousins to a torn ACL, they quickly began looking for his replacement. Since Cousins was expected to play a significant role with the Lakers, the Lakers needed to add a big man who could play meaningful minutes.

Since the rush of free agency was over, the Lakers were left with limited options. However, they have decided to settle on bringing back Dwight Howard.

Considering how things went with Howard in his first go-around in Los Angeles, it was surprising to see him return. However, Howard appears to have matured and is motivated to help the Lakers.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Howard came into his workout with the Lakers in great shape.

Howard showing up to his workout in great shape with a positive attitude certainly helped him make his case to join the Lakers. Due to his past of being a bit of a problem in the locker room, Howard being in great shape is a good indication that he is taking this reunion very seriously.

After missing most of last season, Howard will be looking to once again prove that he can be a productive player in the NBA. While the Lakers won’t be getting an All-Star player, Howard still does have the ability to help this team on both ends of the court.

With Howard getting back into good shape, it will hopefully help him with the back issues that he dealt with last season. Also, being a bit leaner and faster will help Howard’s ability to protect the rim.
