During the 2019-2020 season, all eyes will be on the Los Angeles Lakers two superstars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. When folks in LA take their focus off of the Purple and Gold’s dashing duo, they’ll bring their attention to Dwight Howard to see if the Lakers new big man can fill the role of backup center without whining like a two-year-old child whose mom just took away his favorite toy.
Lakers fans are right to concentrate on LBJ, AD, and “Superman,” however, if superstars are the foundation of every championship team, then role players are the support beams that hold the squad together.
Every championship squad must get tremendous contributions from its role players to win the penultimate prize.
Think back to the Lakers championships squads at the turn of the century. Shaq and Kobe were the main factors as the Purple and Gold stomped their way through the playoffs three years in a row.
