Los Angeles Lakers have the depth to make a championship run on paper, now they need to put it all together on the court
The Los Angeles Lakers started off this offseason shaking up the NBA by acquiring superstar Anthony Davis. After striking out on a big-name free agent, they spent the rest of their offseason building their roster by spreading around their $32 million in cap space to create depth for the roster.
When looking at the big picture, it will be very beneficial that the Lakers went the Plan B route, as their team is now built with more pieces that can help win rather than stacking their deck with one card. Anybody would love to have Kawhi Leonard but with the case, as you have seen with DeMarcus Cousins, one big injury to the Lakers big named players and the season is over.
The Lakers have the superstar duo in LeBron James and Anthony Davis that can carry them far but in this NBA, the way it’s built, it’s going to take a lot more to win the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy.
Frank Vogel and company will need to find a way to maximize each players potential and be able to have a steady balance each night. This coaching staff is loaded, and each brings a different variety to the game, so it will be good to have this group leading the team next season.
The West is stacked as usual and the Lakers are deep in depth, and any team with James will always be mentioned with contenders. We will detail how the Lakers can do that going into the 2019-20 season and hang another banner in the Staples Center.
