Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James recently posted that he and Anthony Davis will drive one another in the time to come.
Now that the dog days of summer are here, that can only mean one thing. It is some of the best news a sports fan can hope to hear. Basketball season is drawing near, ladies and gentlemen!
Indeed, after what has been an exciting, pulse-racing summer, Los Angeles Lakers hoops will be upon us in just a matter of time. Certainly, there is plenty of reason to be pumped up about the season that lies ahead.
Perhaps the primary reason many are looking forward to Lakers basketball is on the grounds that fans will finally get to see LeBron James and Anthony Davis play together. The happiness is more than justifiable given that James and Davis are among the elite of the elite in the NBA.
With respect to Davis, the team’s front office sacrificed most of the once heralded young core in order to acquire the big man. Thus, it is reasonable to say the expectations are through the roof at this juncture.
Assuming all goes well, it is not implausible to think James and Davis could carry the Lakers a long way during the 2019-2020 campaign. However, to increase their chances of success, the pair need to get acclimated to one another on the hardwood.
According to a recent article by Christian Rivas of SB Nation, it appears like that is the case. On Sunday, LeBron, AD, and several others got some extra work in at the team’s training grounds in El Segundo.
Without a doubt, this is a good thing to catch wind of because it indicates that The King and The Brow are already in preparation mode.
Additionally, there is another positive about yesterday’s workout session in El Segundo. Per a social media post Rivas shared, it looks like James has not lost his bounce yet. The Akron native posted a snapshot of himself on Instagram on Sunday, which validates that same idea.

If you ask me, that is not too shabby for a man headed into his 17th season at the NBA level. Suffice to say, it evokes that there is still a fair increment of juice left in the tank.
That being said, many folks are sure to “enjoy flight” if James showcases moves like that throughout the course of the forthcoming season.
Albeit the monstrous dunk is quite impressive, it is not the only takeaway from the time spent in the gym. James was also spotted with Davis at one point, with the latter guarding the three-time world champion.
Via Rivas, LeBron composed a post with the following caption: “We gone push and challenge each other more than anyone else could.”
Posts of this nature are encouraging, for they suggest that the two athletes are already getting along. Additionally, what makes it stand out is the utilization of the term “we.”
On that note, James expresses his desire to help Davis out basketball wise, while also implying that he hopes to learn a thing or two from the power forward/center in return.
If the two can manage to make each other better, that is a scary thought to consider. At any rate, knowing that James has this goal in mind is important in terms of establishing an underlying sense of camaraderie.
Certainly, nothing is instantaneous. It will take some degree of time for James and AD to get accustomed to each other. Nevertheless, the more the two spend time together, the benefits should naturally reap themselves.
The Lakers have championship level aspirations for the 2019-2020. That being said, any chunk of time their two studs are working on their game together is reassuring news.
