1. Analytics

Here is where the signing gets better. Green is an analytics superstar. His net rating is always in the top half of the NBA, his offensive and defensive rating are always above average and at times is elite.

In his career, he has always graded out positively in the net rating category minus his rookie year in Cleveland, where again, he didn’t play much more than garbage time. His lowest season was was a +2.4 on the 2017-18 Spurs team that was all over the place that season with the Leonard debacle.

He has had eight seasons with at least a +6.7 rating, seven seasons of at least a +7.5 rating and two seasons with at least a +12.5 rating. Last year was his best overall season with a +13.4 rating, finishing with an astronomical 117.7 offensive rating, compared to a 104.3 defensive rating.

The last nine seasons combined Green has had a +79 rating and if you divide that by the number of seasons it comes out to an average of +8.78 net. He always has a knack for being an analytics player on the court, if he struggles on one end, he makes up for it on the other end and vice versa.

The NBA today is run and gun, there aren’t many guys who play both ends of the floor, Green has shown in his career he is willing to effect games on either end, as witnessed by his stats. There is a reason why he has been a big contributor on two different championship teams.
