As we get ready for the start of the 2019-20 season, here are three goals for Dwight Howard in his second stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.
After DeMarcus Cousins went down over the summer for the Los Angeles Lakers, the franchise was left scrambling to find a replacement.
Even though Cousins wasn’t given a ton of money by the team this offseason, he had the potential to be a big part of the team this season. Cousins was coming back from a torn quad that hampered him in the NBA Finals. However, by all accounts, Cousins was in great shape this summer and potentially poised for a strong comeback season.
Once it was diagnosed that Cousins had a torn ACL, the Lakers began their search for a replacement. With limited options, the Lakers landed on Dwight Howard.
Due to his bad first stint with the Lakers, it was surprising that both sides had a mutual interest in a reunion. Howard has been bouncing around the league the last few seasons, and his reputation has not been good during that time frame.
However, Howard is in great shape coming off an injury-plagued season, and has been saying all the right things as of now. While Howard isn’t the player he once was earlier in his career, he can still be a rotation player and maybe even a starter in the NBA.
It will certainly be interesting to see what Howard can do this time around with the Lakers. There are no guarantees for Howard this season, and he will need to act well and perform well if he wants to stick. With that being said, here are three goals for Howard this season.
