4. Lakers are the only NBA team with three players in the All-Star game

Well, I was going to make my case about this with either Boogie or Kuzma being the third All-Star. Obviously, this take gets a little more bold as now Kuzma is the only realistic option barring an insane breakout year for Alex Caruso.

As mentioned before, Kuzma has a huge opportunity this season to really make the leap from streaky role player to consistent scoring option and potential All-Star. Another big reason I think Kuz can make this leap is because he has a chip on his shoulder. As the sole remaining young player from the Lakers re-build he has to prove to the Lakers organization, coaching staff, and fans that he was worth being kept.

Furthermore, he can also still be traded. As we all know, no player on a LeBron-led team is safe from being traded in an attempt to try and improve and win now. So Kuzma really has to prove his worth because with the Boogie injury, the Lakers will need help finding the third scoring option and if Kuz doesn’t show that he can fill that role, he is really the only player we have that is an appealing trade option.

No one is going to be calling Rob Pelinka trying to acquire Troy Daniels or Jared Dudley. No offense guys, just being honest. However, if Kuz can make the leap and the Lakers are one of the best teams in the NBA, there’s no reason to believe we can’t be the only team to have three All-Stars.
