Honorable Mentions:

The honorable mentions list consists of the guys who were cut out from making the All-NBA LA teams, but only due to the strength at their position or in the case of DeMarcus Cousins; injury. Landry Shamet and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are better players than Jared Dudley, Maurice Harkless, and JaMychal Green, but their positions result in them missing the cut. Dwight Howard is a top ten player from both teams, but Anthony Davis, Montrezl Harrell, and barely JaVale McGee are all better Centers than Howard at this point in his career.

All-NBA LA Third Team:

G – Rajon Rondo,G – Avery Bradley, F – Jared Dudley , F – Maurice Harkless , C – JaVale McGee

The All-NBA LA Third Team features JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, and Avery Bradley. Ideally, Harkless and Dudley shouldn’t have made this list, but nonetheless, this is the third-best lineup comprised of the two Los Angeles based teams. Rondo trails Patrick Beverley but not by much. During the regular season, Beverley will have a much greater impact on the Clippers than Rondo will on the Lakers. But come playoff time, expect Rondo to be the more impactful player of the two.

Bradley makes the All-NBA LA Third Team easily, with no question as to who is ahead of him and behind him. He’s not quite as good as a Danny Green, but he’s certainly better than Caldwell-Pope. Bradley’s game style is very similar to Patrick Beverley’s, but he’ll need to prove himself this season.

JaVale McGee is the best player on this All-NBA LA team and on some nights might be the better center between himself and Montrezl Harrell. Harkless is the only Clipper on this Lakers-dominated team. The advantage in this tier of players between both LA teams certainly goes to the Lakers.
