With the start of the 2019-20 season almost here for the Los Angeles Lakers, these are three goals for center JaVale McGee.

Last summer, one of the best signings for the Los Angeles Lakers was bringing in center JaVale McGee.

After a rocky start to his career in the NBA, McGee eventually landed with the Golden State Warriors. In a great situation, McGee flourished in Golden State and helped them become one of the best teams in the NBA.

With Golden State, McGee didn’t play a ton of minutes, but he was always productive. When the Lakers signed him, many were unsure how much he would actually be able to bring to table, as there were concerns he was just a product of the system in Golden State.

However, McGee exceeded all expectations for the Lakers last season. He was able to average 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in just over 22 minutes per game. For McGee, it was arguably the best season of his career on an individual level.

Since he played so well, it was a no-brainer for the Lakers to bring him back this season. While the rest of the team might look a lot different, McGee is certainly deserving of being on this new and improved Lakers squad.

More-so than last season, McGee might be pushed for his starting spot with the Lakers. The addition of Dwight Howard is a very interesting one, but McGee should still be the favorite barring a major change.

As McGee gets set to enter his second season with the Lakers, here are three goals for him this upcoming season.
