Quinn Cook, Danny Green, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.
One of the biggest problems that plagued the Los Angeles Lakers last season was terrible shooting from the 3-point line. Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka were criticized by the masses for focusing on playmaking rather than shooting.
The masses were proved right with the Lakers, as a whole, shooting an abysmal 33.3% from the 3-point line for the 2018-19 NBA season.
With Johnson no longer the president of basketball operations, general manager Rob Pelinka was able to mold the team as he sees fit.
With the free agent signings of point guard Quinn Cook and shooting guard Danny Green amongst other new signings, the Lakers have addressed their deficiencies in the 3-point shooting department.
With Quinn Cook, Danny Green, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis you have the perfect mixture of 3-point shooting, defense, playmaking, and rebounding.
Cook, who shot an excellent 40.5% from the 3-point line last season, and Green, who shot a staggering 45.5% from deep last year, would punish any and every double team the opposing defenses threw at Davis or LeBron.
Cook and Green would easily be one of the best shooting backcourts in the NBA. LeBron is one of the best playmakers in the NBA, so he would easily find these two guys on the floor on a nightly basis and AD is one of the best passing big men in the NBA. If he gets a double team, you can bet that one of these guys is going to be open and that spells trouble for the other team.
With Davis crashing the boards and getting blocks, LeBron punishing teams in transition and dishing the ball at an elite level and Cook and Green knocking down every available shot, this has the potential to be a potent line up for the Los Angeles Lakers.
