The Los Angeles Lakers gave Dwight Howard a lifeline to continue his career. Howard officially has his last shot to save his career. Is he blowing it by possibly saying the wrong things?

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially started their journey on Friday, November 27, 2019. To everyone else, it is known as media day. It’s the time where players answer questions about how they got ready for the season and how they spent their summer. It’s strictly politically correct and it provides hope for the franchise’s fanbase.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James will be on the minds of the NBA world as they compete with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the Staples Center tag team championship. These guys are walking sound bites and will be NBA’s version of EF Hutton. When they talk, people listen.

According to the bookies in Vegas, the NBA title will be residing somewhere in the building. Which side of the hall depends on who performs better.

Shaquille O’Neal has stated on numerous occasions that the “others” are the key to winning it all. Who would think that the possible “Kryptonite” to the Clippers may be Shaq’s “Superman” replacement, Dwight Howard.

What’s Howard’s “Kryptonite”? His big mouth and short memory of its ramifications. His narratives change in almost every interview. It’s getting to the point that maybe he doesn’t even know what he is doing.

Okay, Lake Show Life has some reading material for Dwight Howard to refer to this season. Maybe it will help him to get to January without putting his foot in his mouth. Then his contract will become guaranteed.

During media day, Dwight Howard was a little different from the last three stops (Washington, Charlotte and Atlanta) where he was jovial and making jokes. He seemed a little more low key and guarded.

In this interview, Dwight Howard looks like he is trying to fit in. It must have set in that this is the “last chance for romance” in the NBA. It’s the end of the road if this doesn’t work out. Here’s the problem.

Dwight Howard ALWAYS does this at the beginning of the season. By the time the grind of the NBA season kicks in, Howard almost controls the market in driving the locker room nuts.

Apparently, Dwight Howard has missed the narrative that has dogged him since he played for the Los Angeles Lakers, like the first time.

It’s time for an intervention here. It’s time for Dwight Howard to take a long look (Again!) in the mirror because these types of statements are what gets him in trouble at every stop.

In recent times, Dwight Howard’s rights inside of two years have been linked to five teams with three trades and two buyouts. Taking part in interviews is the last thing Dwight Howard needs to be doing right now. How many interviews did LeBron do over the summer? Anthony Davis? Starting to see a situation here?

I’m going to take a page out of LeBron James‘ book of taking a negative phrase and turning it into a positive. About a year ago, he made a brilliant play on words used by Fox News host Laura Ingraham to try to shut him up about talking politics.

James is such media genius, he flipped that phrase and turned it into a three-part documentary on Showtime called “Shut Up and Dribble”.

Lake Show Life doesn’t have the media exposure of LeBron James to make a documentary, but let’s use the concept for a message to Dwight Howard to see the error of his ways. Also, it will help him see why his reputation is in the toilet.

Welcome to Lake Show Life’s mini-documentary on Dwight Howard’s odyssey as a teammate.

Dwight Howard: Shut up and dribble.
