Here are five reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers will miss Brandon Ingram.

In early July, the Los Angeles Lakers officially traded Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and the fourth overall pick in this year’s NBA draft to the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis.

At first, some questioned the price tag that consisted of almost all of the Lakers’ young blue-chippers, especially considering that Davis can become a free agent next summer.

But over time, that criticism has subsided, only to be replaced with a little bit of talk about whether the Lakers should have kept Ingram (or, for that matter, Ball) instead of Kyle Kuzma.

Many think Kuzma was the right man to keep on the roster, because of his assertiveness, skill set and also because he fits better with this roster than Ingram would’ve.

However, it’s also clear that Ingram has a higher ceiling than Kuzma. The Flint, Mich. native may make an All-Star team or two, but Ingram has a better chance of becoming a perennial All-Star in the coming years.

While Kuzma is a terrific scorer with the polished offensive repertoire of a seasoned veteran rather than one you’d expect a 24-year-old to possess, Ingram is a somewhat more well-rounded player with plenty of potential to improve.

Again, this isn’t to say the Lakers should’ve included Kuzma instead of Ingram in the Davis trade, but the Lakers will still miss certain things from the former Blue Devil and need to have other players to fill in those blanks.
