We break down the Los Angeles Lakers third preseason victory over the Golden State Warriors this year.

The Los Angeles Lakers just dominated the Golden State Warriors for the third time this preseason on Wednesday night. With each passing game, the beat downs get worse. Lake Show Life shows the highlights of what is becoming the return of the Twin Towers!

The Warriors, for the most part, have been living high off the hog the last five years while the Lakers have struggled, to say the least. Outside of a Christmas Day win last season, it’s hard to remember the last time Lakers fans could even brag about their team and really believe it.

Well, those days are over. Hopefully, the Warriors fans enjoyed their time in history because their team can no longer beat the Lakers.

More importantly, the Warriors know it. They have put a team out three times in the preseason and the whippings are just getting worse.

The Los Angeles Lakers almost can’t lose, as long as they use their size provided in the starting lineup with Anthony Davis and JaVale McGee while LeBron James actually shows that he is rested and engaged. They sure did on Wednesday night, winning 126-93.

The Warriors had some factors that played into this horrific beat down, but let’s show the list of why they didn’t matter.

  • Golden State did not play Stephen Curry who sat out to rest. Who cares? The Lakers perimeter defenders held him to low percentages in the games he did play. In the first game, Curry shot 5-of-11 from the field but only 1-of-5 from 3-point land. In the second game, he only shot 6-of-17 from the field. Scoring average: 17.5.
  • D’Angelo Russell looked like the only Warrior on the floor that wasn’t afraid. The Lakers rammed the ball down the throats of Golden State Warriors as they pushed the pace to the tune of 71 points in the first half.
  • Golden State’s likely rotation bigs Willie Cauley-Stein and Kevon Looney did not play. It didn’t matter. After giving up a dunk to Marquese Chriss, the Lakers looked dominant enough to make you wonder if anyone can score on the backline when they work the defensive kinks out. The Lakers gave up 45 points in the first half.

The fortunes of this Lakers team will start and end with LeBron James and Anthony Davis dominating in the lineup together. The mood was set minutes in when James time and time again attacked the basket.

James was running all over the floor wherever he wanted while the next coming of the “Twin Towers” did their thing. The spacing opened up for the shooters. The Lakers exploded from behind the arc knocking down 15-of-30 from distance.

If the Los Angeles Lakers play like this, any team that dares to get on the court with this bunch had better compete or they will be embarrassed. This team is that good and it’s not hype.

Normally Lake Show Life does lessons, but what can you really learn from a game like this? We celebrate the game with a virtual highlight reel of players that showed off starting with the guy whose name is on the marquee.
