Los Angeles Lakers: Bernie Sanders chooses LeBron James over Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate
Bernie Sanders recently weighed in on the GOAT debate and selected Los Angeles Lakers forward, LeBron James, over Michael Jordan.
The Los Angeles Lakers have had multiple players wear the purple and gold that are among the best to ever play. The debate on who the Greatest of All-Time in the NBA is could be discussed for years, without a clear GOAT, and here’s why.
In different era’s, there are different GOAT’s. In the 1970’s it was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, in the 1980’s it was Magic Johnson, in the 1990’s it was Michael Jordan, in the 2000’s it was Kobe Bryant, and from 2010 to present day, it’s been, LeBron James. All those players were/are generational talents, who played in different era’s and should not be compared.
However, the question of who the GOAT is between LeBron James and Michael Jordan was asked to Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders, on Secular Talk by Kyle Kulinski.
Kulinski asked Bernie, “Michael Jordan or LeBron James?” Bernie said, “LeBron James.”
Kulinski asked, “is that because of the policy he just supported with you?” Bernie said, “I think LeBron has been willing to do what a lot of athletes are not and get involved in the political process, put money into education, and I respect that.”
We have seen LeBron James on the campaign trail with 2016 Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and he will likely support and endorse the Democratic nominee in 2020 as well, and a Bernie-LeBron tandem would be tough to defeat in the 2020 election.
LeBron has agreed with a couple of Bernie Sanders’ policies and ideas, such as college athletes getting paid. Bernie Sanders has garnered many young people to support him, and he has encouraged young people to register and vote in upcoming elections.
As most of us know, LeBron James has been an inspiration to many young people in this country in his own way, and Bernie has inspired the youth in his own way.
Another Laker who seems close to endorsing Bernie is Kyle Kuzma, who has tweeted out showing support for Bernie a couple of times. It’s only a matter of time for Bernie to get an endorsement from Kuzma or LeBron.
