With the NBA season upon us, we take a look at five teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, who are legitimate title contenders.

A lot of things can change in the NBA over the course of one Summer, right Los Angeles Lakers fans? As the final buzzer went during Game 6 of the NBA finals, it would have been unfathomable that mere months later, both finals teams would no longer be considered the favorites for the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy.

Kevin Durant tore his Achilles and subsequently moved to the Brooklyn Nets. In addition to Klay Thompson tearing his ACL and expected to miss a large chunk if not the whole of the upcoming season and with Kawhi Leonard on the heels of winning the NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors, bolting to LA to join the Los Angeles Clippers. There has been a paradigm shift in the NBA.

While the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors still have strong teams, I don’t think you will find many pundits or fans who will have them at the top of their lists for the title.

With all these moves being made, it cracks the NBA wide open, allowing different teams to come in and stake their claim for the crown.

With big moves made by the Los Angeles Lakers in acquiring Anthony Davis, the LA Clippers landing Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving going to the Brooklyn Nets and D’Angelo Russell heading to the Golden State Warriors, the list of teams who are capable of winning the title this season seems much larger.
