How should the Los Angeles Lakers coaching staff arrange the point guard rotation and the backup shooting guard position for the Purple and Gold during the 2019-2020 season?

LeBron James is going to start at small forward, and Anthony Davis will open games at the power forward position. No other Lakers player is guaranteed to start once the regular season begins.

While nothing is confirmed, most people believe that Frank Vogel will insert Avery Bradley, Danny Green, and JaVale McGee into the starting lineup.

Every Lakers fan agrees that LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Danny Green deserve to start games.

Most folks also understand that JaVale McGee is a younger and better overall player than Dwight Howard thus, he too should be part of the starting unit.

There’s also a consensus that Dwight Howard should play backup center, Jared Dudley should be the second string power forward, and once Kyle Kuzma returns from injury, he ought to be the backup small forward.

Three roster spots aren’t so clear cut; starting point guard, backup point guard, and backup shooting guard.

Up next, we’ll an analyze who has earned the right to be the Lakers starting point guard, backup PG, and second string shooting guard.
