The Los Angeles Lakers were able to win their second straight game thanks to a big second half against the Charlotte Hornets.
After picking up their first win against the Utah Jazz, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to pick up their second straight win against the Charlotte Hornets.
On Sunday night, the Lakers got off to a bit of a slow start against the Hornets. As a big favorite, it would have been nice to see the Lakers jump out early and take the fight out of the Hornets early on.
However, at halftime, the Lakers held just a one-point lead. The defense didn’t look very good to start the game, which was a bit frustrating considering how well they played against the Jazz.
Despite the slow start, the Lakers did really impose their will on the game in the second half, and that started on the defensive end. Even though they scored over 60 points in the first half, the Hornets only finished the game with 101 points.
Seeing the type of consistency on the defensive end is what we all want to see from the Lakers. This team certainly has the ability to be one of the best defensive teams in the league, and we saw that in the second half against the Hornets.
Even though it wasn’t pretty for the whole game, the Lakers did eventually handle their business against a team that they should beat easily.
With the Lakers now on a two-game winning streak, here are three takeaways from the win over the Hornets
