Los Angeles Lakers: Kyle Kuzma could be returning soon
By Nick Ziegler
As the Los Angeles Lakers get ready for a quick upcoming road trip, help might be on the way.
So far this season, the Los Angeles Lakers are off to a good start. Despite being a bit short-handed, the Lakers are 2-1 with their only loss coming against the Los Angeles Clippers on Opening Night.
Since that loss, the Lakers have beat the Utah Jazz and the Charlotte Hornets. In both games, the Lakers played really well in the second half, especially on the defensive end of the court.
The Lakers will have one more game at home before they head on the road over the weekend to start a three-game road trip. Some good news for the Lakers is that they expect Kyle Kuzma to be back in the lineup.
Kuzma being close to returning is great news for the team. Kuzma is going to be a big part of this team for the season, and is arguably their third-best player.
Since he has missed the entire preseason and training camp, getting back into game shape is something that will take some time. With a few more days off after the game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Kuzma will have some extra time to get in shape.
When Kuzma comes back, it will be interesting to see how Frank Vogel works him back into the rotation. Since things are going well right now, Kuzma will almost surely be coming off the bench.
Many have assumed that he was going to be coming off the bench to begin with, but the injury might have solidified that. Without Kuzma, the Lakers have lacked a bit of a scoring punch off the bench. However, Kuzma will certainly be able to help in that area, as he is capable of scoring 20 points a night.
With Kuzma set to be back soon it seems, the Lakers will now just be waiting on the return of Rajon Rondo. Despite injuries to these two players to start the season, the Lakers are looking pretty good early on.
