Los Angeles Lakers: Ranking the 10 best jerseys of all time

5.) MPLS Throwbacks (2002 & 2017)
These jerseys have shown up a couple of times throughout the years, making their debut back in the 2001-2002 season, and again in 2017-2018. These jerseys obviously pay tribute to both the George Mikan-era Lakers who hailed from Minneapolis from 1958-1965 and the five NBA championships they won during that time.
Everything about this jersey fits incredibly well, from the powder blue color to the MPLS that has a bright shade of gold that makes the jerseys really ‘pop’. Not only do they pay homage to an important time in both Laker and NBA history, but they are also downright pretty to look at and offer a creative change-up from the standard purple and gold.
Even though Nike brought these uniforms back as a throwback edition in the 2017-2018 season, it wasn’t anywhere to be seen the following year. The current status of this jersey is currently unknown, but suffice to say, it is one the team should heavily consider.
