We’ll discuss three stats that show how the Los Angeles Lakers have started the season 5-1.

The Los Angeles Lakers have won five out of their first six contests. Those aren’t just empty wins against subpar opponents, either. The Lakers have beaten the Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks, and San Antonio Spurs, three playoff-caliber squads in the Western Conference.

The 2019-2020 NBA season is just beginning, so the small sample size rules apply to any squad that has gotten off to a hot start (i.e., the Phoenix Suns). However, just because we’re in the early days of November, it doesn’t mean that we can’t glean something from the Lakers’ initial statistics.

In fact, throughout the Purple and Gold’s first six games of the 2019-2020 season, several trends have started to pop up, two of which look like they’ll last throughout the season and one that will change over the course of the next month or two.

Up next we’ll take an in-depth look at three separate statistical anomalies from the Lakers’ first six games of the year. These statistics have stood out and are a big reason that the team has gotten off to such a hot start.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the three stats that have helped the Lakers get to the top of the Western Conference to begin the season.

Note: All statistics are through November 4th and the first six games of the season.
