Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors involve Anthony Davis, who will reportedly rest for tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

With the season underway, there haven’t been many Los Angeles Lakers rumors swirling around. Sure, there are some discussions about Andre Iguodala still, but there can’t really be much roster movement until mid-December. Once that date around, trade rumors will assuredly pick up.

Most Lakers rumors that have popped up recently revolve around the team and the player’s health. Fans will be disappointed with the most recent Lakers rumors.

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN and reports, star power forward Anthony Davis will not play in tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Davis will rest on the second night of the back-to-back.

My, how the mighty have fallen. In recent years, teams would rest leading up to games against the Warriors to bring their best effort for a chance to knock off the five-time defending Western Conference champs. Now, teams are using matchups against them to rest players.

While fans will be disappointed not to see Davis out there, it makes sense to rest Davis tonight. This is not close to Warriors teams of recent seasons, as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are both sidelined with injuries and Kevin Durant is rehabbing with the Brooklyn Nets.

D’Angelo Russell and Draymond Green have both also missed games this season, as the Warriors know this isn’t a team that will be contending, let alone even battling for a playoff spot unless a miracle occurs.

The Lakers, with LeBron James in the lineup, should be able to hold their own against Golden State. Sitting Davis also makes sense because he has been banged up in recent games.

Davis first injured his shoulder against the Charlotte Hornets when he attempted a dunk during the game. In the following game against the Chicago Bulls, he was constantly fidgeting and flexing his arm and shoulder.

In addition to the shoulder ailment, Davis also took a shot to his ribs last night against the Phoenix Suns. X-rays were negative on his ribs, but he was set to be re-evaluated today.

The fans in attendance who pay good money to see these teams play, but this is the right move for Davis and Lakers. Pushing him for a game in November against the 2-9 Warriors makes little sense.

Los Angeles has its eyes on much bigger fish than the 11th regular-season game of the 2019-20 campaign.
