Los Angeles Lakers lose Avery Bradley for a few weeks to hairline fracture
Los Angeles Lakers guard Avery Bradley will be sidelined at least 1-2 weeks with a hairline fracture in his right leg.
The Los Angeles Lakers have not been able to shake the injury bug this season. Right when they get one player back into the lineup, another player seems to hit the sidelines.
Los Angeles began the season with Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma both sidelined with a sore calf and recovery from a stress fracture. They have both returned to the lineup in the last week or so, getting the Lakers back to full strength. Unfortunately, it didn’t remain that way for very long.
Right as they got those two players back, they have now lost Avery Bradley for the foreseeable future.
Bradley will miss at least the next 1-2 weeks because of a hairline fracture to a non-weight bearing bone in his right leg. After 1-2 weeks, Bradley will be re-evaluated again.
The Lakers and Bradley looked to have caught a break originally. When the injury occurred against the San Antonio Spurs, Bradley missed only one game, on the road, against the Chicago Bulls. He has played in the four subsequent games since, but will now be sidelined for a little while.

If the team waits the full two weeks to re-evaluate him, Bradley will miss at least eight games. The earliest he seems likely to return is Sunday, Dec. 1 against the Dallas Mavericks.
The last time Bradley missed a game, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was inserted into the starting lineup. Frank Vogel could do that again this time around, but with Rondo healthy and back in the lineup, he could go with a different combination.
With LeBron James playing well as the main ball-handler in the starting five, it makes sense for the Lakers to insert a 3-point shooting, defensive-minded player to take Bradley’s place. Someone such as Rondo would require a lot more adjustment for the starting five than someone such as KCP or even Alex Caruso.
Hopefully, Bradley can return to the lineup sooner than later. The Lakers have had very few opportunities to build chemistry with their full lineup and the sooner they are able to do that, the better.
