The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a very hot start. Here are three reasons why they are one of the best teams in basketball as of now.

After a strong offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers, hopes were certainly high for this season.

For the past six years, the Lakers have missed the playoffs. When the Lakers signed LeBron James in the offseason prior to last year, it looked like the Lakers might have been snapping that streak.

However, despite a good start, the injury to James and Rajon Rondo on Christmas really ended the Lakers’ playoff hopes. The Lakers missing the playoffs once again resulted in a lot of change in the front office and on the roster coming into this season. With a 12-2 record in 14 games, so far so good for the Lakers.

There were certainly some concerns coming into the season, but the Lakers have performed really as well as anyone could have imagined. A lot of times when there is a lot of roster change, it takes time to develop chemistry. That really hasn’t been the case with the Lakers.

Having a great facilitator in James has resulted in the offense doing well to start the season, and they are also one of the best defensive teams in the league. On both ends of the court, the Lakers are a good team, which is something we haven’t seen in a long time.

With 14 games being a pretty good sample size in the early part of the season, here are three reasons why the Lakers got off to a hot start this season.
