LeBron James continues to show why he is the front-runner for MVP as he carried the Los Angeles Lakers to victory and a 15-2 record. Lake Show Life talks Lake Show Life Lessons showing James’ domination of the Spurs in two different ways in two halves of play!

LeBron James carried the scoring load in the first half and assisted in the second half as the Los Angeles Lakers pushed their winning streak to eight games defeating the San Antonio Spurs.

The Los Angeles Lakers were looking past this game to Wednesday night. No question about it. Based on the first-half performance when two players in the starting lineup, Anthony Davis and Danny Green, contributed next to nothing offensively, LeBron James channeled his “Inner Cleveland” keeping the game close.

The Monday night matchup against the San Antonio Spurs appeared to be an exercise of how many ways the Lakers could find to win an NBA basketball game. It seems that the Lakers have collected their 15th game of the season while using their 15th different option of doing so.

The Lakers still sit at the top of the NBA ladder winning their season-high eighth straight game, winning 114-104 on the road against the Spurs.

NBA casuals see these streaks and already have the Los Angeles Lakers as NBA champs.

  • The Lakers have an aforementioned eight-game winning streak.
  • The Lakers have won seven straight games on the road.
  • The Lakers are 3-0 on this recent road trip.
  • The Lakers have the best record since 2001 when the Shaq/Kobe led Lakers steamrolled the NBA into a dominating NBA Finals performance.

What is there to discuss? To people who are paying attention, plenty. The Lakers are playing with fire folks. They are winning games, but the defense is starting to slide. The bottom line, Avery Bradley is sorely missed. This is not a lockdown defensive team without him. Plus he was knocking down shots on the other end of the floor. When he got hurt, things changed.

The Lakers could have easily lost every game on this road trip. It’s just convenient to have LeBron James and Anthony Davis around to bail the team out when things get rough. Since Bradley’s injury, the Lakers have depended on a steady diet of superstars exploding at times in spurts.

The team will have a lot of film to dissect before ending the road trip in New Orleans. Lake Show Life rarely hypes up games, but this will be the second one on the calendar. This game has all the storylines the NBA could want with Anthony Davis making his first appearance since his stylist placed that T-shirt with “That’s All Folks” on the front.

The New Orleans Pelicans haven’t played well at all this season, but who cares? The Thunder aren’t that good, Ja Morant and Andre Iguodala are the only reasons people outside of Tennessee cares about Memphis and San Antonio is among the biggest disappointment of the season.

In other words, the Lakers can’t walk out on the floor with the bad habits they accumulate with seemingly every passing game. This team is not just playing the Pelicans, but the city of New Orleans.

Combine the energy and emotions of an angry crowd with Josh Hart, Lonzo Ball and a rejuvenated Brandon Ingram wanting some get-back against their former team, this will make things interesting. That’s for Wednesday, let’s deal with Monday.

Let’s get to Lake Show Life Lessons!
