The Los Angeles Lakers were able to win their 10th straight game in rather easy fashion against the Washington Wizards.
After completing a successful road-trip, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to continue their winning ways at home. Despite a good start from the Wizards in the first few minutes of the game, the Lakers handled them easily.
On the road trip, the Lakers had a lot of close calls against some opponents that weren’t that good. However, they didn’t mess around against the Wizards after the slow start. Even though the Lakers were down double-digits early, they ended up winning the first quarter by 14 points.
While the Wizards are one of the worst teams in the league, the quick turn around for the Lakers was really impressive.
After a big game against his former team, Anthony Davis once again dominated against the Wizards. It was clear from the start the Wizards had no answer for Davis.
Davis only played 27 minutes, but he finished with 26 points and 13 rebounds. In addition to a big game from Davis, the Lakers received a strong performance from JaVale McGee, as the starting frontcourt dominated. McGee totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds in just 22 minutes.
Off the bench, the Lakers also got some good performances from two of their guards. Both Quinn Cook and Rajon Rondo played quite well off the bench, as the Lakers dominated the Wizards’ second unit.
Cook ended up finishing with 17 points and Rondo chipped in with 13 of his own. Getting the strong performances from the guards off the bench played a sizable role in the Lakers winning this game easily.
Considering some of the struggles against teams on the road, this was an impressive showing from the Lakers. They controlled the game quickly and were able to rest some of their regulars in the fourth quarter.
Next up for the Lakers will be a showdown against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. Considering how well Doncic has been playing, this will surely be a fun one in Los Angeles.
