The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be challenged during their upcoming road trip. Here are three keys to the team finding success on this trip.

The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to an incredible start in the 2019-20 NBA season. They currently lead the Western Conference with a record of 17-3, which is second-best in the league behind the 18-3 Milwaukee Bucks.

Frank Vogel has done a magnificent job in his first season on the sidelined, mixing and matching the lineups around some injuries throughout the first 20 games. Multiple rotation players have missed games this season, but LeBron James and Anthony Davis have missed only one game combined, which is a big reason for the team’s success.

Another reason for the Lakers’ hot start this season is the schedule. They have taken full advantage of a soft opening to the season, defeating all of the teams they are supposed to beat. However, business is about to pick up as the schedule will get more difficult in the coming weeks.

Los Angeles is in the midst of a stretch where they will play 12 of 15 games away from the STAPLES Center. They will be at home only twice the first three weeks of December, which would present some difficulties for any team.

Not only is playing on the road more difficult, but they will also be facing some tougher teams. The Lakers have gone undefeated on their first two road trips of the season, but this one will present some challenges.

If they want to make it three for three, they have a stiff test ahead of them as they will travel to face the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers.

Denver is in second place in the Western Conference, Utah is 8-1 at home and Portland is playing the best basketball of their season after signing Carmelo Anthony, as they are riding a three-game winning streak.

If the Lakers want to find success on this trip, they will have to play some good basketball. Here are three keys to the Lakers winning during this upcoming road trip.
