After a great month of basketball for the Los Angeles Lakers, head coach Frank Vogel has been named the Western Conference Coach of the Month.

As the Los Angeles Lakers head into December, they are coming off a great month of basketball.

The Lakers currently have the best record in the Western Conference, as the month of November helped them create a little distance between them and other teams. The Lakers had a ridiculous record of 14-1 in the month of November, which included a 10-game winning streak.

While the schedule for the Lakers wasn’t the most challenging in the month, they were able to avoid losing letdown games against teams that they are better than. In the month, the only loss that the Lakers suffered was against the Toronto Raptors.

Due to the success of the team, it was very deserving that Frank Vogel was named the Western Conference Coach of the Month.

Any time a team has a 14-1 month, a lot of the credit has to go to the head coach.

Vogel might not have been the first choice for the Lakers this offseason, but it looks like he was the right one. After failing to land Ty Lue, the Lakers started up their coaching search again and landed on Vogel.

As one of the best defensive coaches in the NBA, we knew that Vogel would be trying to implement that for the Lakers. Considering the Lakers were one of the worst defensive teams in the league last season, the addition of Vogel and some better defensive players have worked wonders.

While November was extremely successful for the Lakers, December will be a bit more challenging. With some marquee matchups against some of the top teams, the Lakers and Vogel will certainly be tested this coming month. However, a lot of credit has to go out to Vogel for a job well done in November.
