FanSided 250: Los Angeles Lakers place very high in rankings

FanSided recently released their FanSided 250, which ranks the fandoms of sports and entertainment. For the Los Angeles Lakers, they grabbed the second overall spot.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most storied franchises not only in the NBA, but in all of sports. Some of the best players to ever step on the court have played for the Lakers, and it has resulted in a lot of championships for the franchise.

Winning is usually a great way to have a fanbase grow. With titles in multiple decades, the Lakers have a wide group of fans that is not only in the United States, but also overseas.

While the Lakers are known for winning championships, they have fallen on some hard times of late. For the last six seasons, the Lakers have missed the postseason. The rebuild after the departure of Kobe Bryant has been challenging, but the fans never forgot about their team.

True fans stick with their teams through the ups and the downs. The is exactly what Lakers fans have had to do the last few years, and it looks like it will be paying off soon.

Recently, FanSided released their FanSided 250 rankings. These rankings compared the fandoms of sports and entertainment into one.

For the Lakers, they rightfully came in very high in the rankings as the No. 1 overall sports team and No.2 overall in the rankings behind only the Marvel movies.

With the powerhouse franchise that Marvel has become with their ultra-successful Avengers movies, it is no surprise to see them in the top spot. However, Lakers fans should be really proud of coming in second place overall, as the next closest sports franchise was ranked 8th.
