The Los Angeles Lakers kept their winning streak on the road alive with a victory over the Orlando Magic. Check out our three takeaways from the win!

The Los Angeles Lakers are on fire right now. After a disappointing loss to the Dallas Mavericks on December 1st, the team has once again gotten rolling. The latest victim to get rolled by the Lakers was the Orlando Magic.

Los Angeles kicked off their five-game road trip, their second-longest of the season, with a solid victory against the Magic. The Lakers picked up a 96-87 victory in a game, except for an Orlando run in the third quarter, that they controlled throughout.

The win pushed the Lakers’ record to 22-3 on the season, which is tied with the Milwaukee Bucks for the best record in the NBA. Even more impressive, the team has won 12 consecutive road games. The only road loss came as the visiting team opening night against the LA Clippers.

Both teams came into the game battling injuries. The Lakers got Avery Bradley back in the lineup but were without Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma once again. The Magic were without two key players as well, as Nikola Vucevic and Markelle Fultz both sat out because of injury.

With so much offensive firepower on the sidelines for both teams, scoring the basketball was sometimes difficult. Credit needs to be given to both team’s defenses, as both teams are top five in points allowed per game and top-10 in defensive rating.

The Lakers will remain in the state of Florida as they will continue their road trip with a visit to the Miami Heat on Friday night. Before we get to that game, let’s take a deeper look at the victory over the Magic.

Check out our three takeaways from the Lakers’ win over the Magic on Wednesday night.
