The Los Angeles Lakers have been very good on both sides of the ball. We now take a look at three players on veteran’s minimum deals that can help contribute.
Boasting one of the best records in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to be clicking. They’re excelling on both ends of the floor and their roster overhaul has started to hit their stride. Rob Pelinka showed this offseason with a flurry of moves that he has what it takes to be a good general manager.
The Lakers are championship contenders, they employ two of the best players in basketball in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They’re complimented by very good role players. Danny Green, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and others have played very well this season.
But with every team, adversity will strike and will the Lakers be equipped to handle it? They seem to be deep on the roster as mentioned by all their role players. They also have Kyle Kuzma who continues to find his identity on both ends of the floor.
The NBA is not very forgiving, you don’t get to make games up and you don’t get to press the restart button. With LeBron getting older and championship aspirations on his mind, the Lakers can ill-afford a slip-up.
With a tough salary cap situation, the team will be relegated to bargain hunting. So we will take a look at three different options all on veteran’s minimum contracts that could help the Lakers. They would all be cost-efficient and wouldn’t take a ton of assets to get back.
The window with LeBron will never be as wide open as it is now. So it’s time Pelinka exhausts every option to help make that a reality. Father Time has never been defeated.
