Los Angeles Lakers: 3 under-the-radar reasons for their early success
There are three under-the-radar reasons for the Los Angeles Lakers hot start to the 2019-2020 season.
Heading into the year, most experts thought that the Los Angeles Lakers would struggle early on because LeBron James typically needs time to get used to his new teammates. That hasn’t been the case.
The Lakers have shot out of the starting gate this year and currently, have the best record in the NBA, along with the Milwaukee Bucks.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis get most of the credit for the Purple and Gold’s success, which is fair. LBJ has regained his quick-twitch muscle movement and looks ten years younger than he did last season, while AD has been the best two-way force in the NBA, stifling opposing teams on defense and dominating at every level of the court on offense.
Consequently, LBJ and AD are the only two teammates in the NBA who are both ranked in the top-5 of Basketball-Reference’s MVP tracker.
James and Davis steal most of the headlines, but they aren’t the only reasons why the Lakers have become the favorites to win the title this season.
There have been three surprising keys to the Lakers’ early success that haven’t received much media attention.
