LeBron James was on ESPN 17 years ago. His son was too. Here’s the difference!

Lets’ go back in the time machine to December 12, 2002. By this time, LeBron James was a household name and was pretty much a lock to be the number one pick in the NBA draft.

Everyone had heard the myths, but now it was time to see if the dude had the game to match the hype. By the way, Dick Vitale was a little younger and more excitable. Bill Walton made more coherent comments back then than he does now.

After the game was over, there was no more doubt and really the star never faded for LeBron James. He dominated the high school ranks on the way to being drafted number one by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bronny James has potential as well. But he’s just a freshman at Sierra Canyon, whose is teammates with Dwyane Wade‘s son Zaire. While LeBron was 6’8 235 when he was televised, Bronny has some growing to do the next few years.

Bronny channeled his “Microwave” powers coming off the bench to provide much-needed scoring for his squad. Check out the left-hand layup fading away from the basket.

Look, his Pops doesn’t have that move in the bag. See everyone, LeBron was up and cheering his son on. No jumping around, losing his shoes or anything. But this wasn’t crunch time.

Fast forward to the end of the game.
